Series: Web.com Tour
DAVIDSON, N.C. – John Peterson and Andrew Svoboda shared the third-round lead Saturday in the Chiquita Classic, the second tournament in the four-event Web.com Tour Finals series.
The bulk of the field is made up of players in the top 75 on the Web.com Tour money list and Nos. 126-200 in the PGA Tour's FedExCup standings. The top 25 on the Web.com money list are assured PGA Tour cards, while the other players are fighting for 25 additional cards through earnings in the four-event series.
Svoboda has already wrapped up a PGA Tour card by finishing 25th on the Web.com money list. Peterson was 30th on the Web.com money list.
Peterson had five back-nine birdies to shoot 5-under 67 to match Svoboda at 10-under 206 at River Run.
"I just stayed out there and my caddie told me just to stay patient," Peterson, the 2011 NCAA champion at LSU. "I don't usually do a good job of that but I did it today and it came around for me on the back.
"I was hitting good shots on the front and a bunch were in that 10 to 12-foot range. I kept hitting it close and finally hit it close enough where it was hard to miss. I can make it from 3 feet, I just couldn't make it from 10 feet today."
Svoboda birdied the final two holes for a 69. The former St. John's player won the Web.com Tour's Price Cutter Charity Championship last month.
"Anywhere around the lead is nice," Svoboda said. "It was really nice to finish with those two birdies."
He made a 20-foot putt on the par-3 17th hole and an 18-footer after laying up on the par-5 18th.
"It was between a 3-wood and a hybrid for me," Svoboda said. "I had 240 to the hole and hitting a 3-wood off a downhill lie just wasn't good for me. I wasn't sure I could get that one up in the air off that lie."
Two-time PGA Tour winner Troy Matteson, Peter Malnati and Greg Owen were a stroke back. Matteson shot 67, Malnati 69, and Owen 71.
"On this course you'd rather be ahead," Matteson said. "This is not one where you can shoot 9 or 10 under and catch back up. This is kind of a `steady Eddie' course. It's just very difficult to shoot a low number."
Ricky Barnes was 7 under along with Brendon Todd, Ben Martin, Vaughn Taylor, Hudson Swafford and Will MacKenzie. Todd had a 68, Barnes and Martin shot 69, Taylor had a 70, Swafford a 71, and MacKenzie a 72.

Updates on the Ravens' process of finding a new offensive coordinator.

Monday, Jan. 27

Kubiak To Be Offensive Coordinator
Multiple outlets are reporting that the Ravens will announce former Houston Texans Head Coach Gary Kubiak as their new offensive coordinator during Monday’s 3 p.m. press conference. Former Texans assistant Rick Dennison is also expected to join the staff as the quarterbacks coach, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Former Texans Head Coach Kubiak Emerges As Favorite
Former Houston Texans Head Coach Gary Kubiak has emerged as the favorite for the offensive coordinator job, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. In addition to bringing in Kubiak as the play caller, the Ravens are also reportedly trying to add Rick Dennison and Kyle Shanahan to the offensive staff. Shanahan has also interviewed for the offensive coordinator job and Dennison met with Head Coach John Harbaugh over the weekend.

Former Texans Coach Talks With Harbaugh
A new name has emerged in the offensive coordinator search, as Head Coach John Harbaugh has spoken with former Houston Texans Offensive Coordinator Rick Dennison, according to The Baltimore Sun. It’s unknown if Harbaugh conducted a formal interview with him. Dennison was the offensive coordinator in Houston from 2010-2013, and was also the Denver Broncos offensive coordinator from 2006-2008. Dennison is known for his zone-blocking schemes, which he ran with All Pro running back Arian Foster.

Sunday, Jan. 26Harbaugh Interviewing Another Candidate
The search for an offensive coordinator is not over yet, and The Baltimore Sun reported that Head Coach John Harbaugh is interviewing “at least one more” candidate Sunday night at the Under Armour Performance Center. The final two candidates were considered to be Wide Receivers Coach Jim Hostler and former Redskins Offensive Coordinator Kyle Shanahan, but now an unknown third candidate is in the mix. Former Pittsburgh Steelers Running Backs Coach Kirby Wilson also interviewed for the job, but the Ravens reportedly told him they were going a different direction and he is reportedly going to join Mike Zimmer’s staff in Minnesota.

Saturday, Jan. 25Wilson Does Not Get The Job
Pittsburgh Steelers Running Backs coach Kirby Wilson has not been selected for the offensive coordinator job, according to Aaron Wilson of The Baltimore Sun. The Ravens are "expected to go with one of the other finalists," Wilson reported. The other known candidates for the job are former Redskins Offensive Coordinator Kyle Shanahan and current Ravens Wide Receivers Coach Jim Hostler. Former Detroit Lions Offensive Coordinator Scott Linehan was also identified by Head Coach John Harbaugh as a candidate, but he reportedly did not get a second interview.

Wilson Calls Interview 'Excellent'
Pittsburgh Steelers Running Backs coach Kirby Wilson reportedly went through two rounds of interviews for the offensive coordinator job, and he described the process as "excellent" to The Baltimore Sun's Aaron Wilson. "It went really well," Wilson said. "It was very informative. They gave me a chance to present what I'm about and what I believe in and I heard what direction they want to go in and what they believe in. I was happy with the visit. I gave it my best shot."

Thursday, Jan. 23

Hostler Interviews Again
Wide Receivers Coach Jim Hostler also had a second interview for the offensive coordinator job, according to Aaron Wilson of The Baltimore Sun. Hostler interviewed for the position earlier in the week, and then went to Mobile, Ala., with other members of the coaching staff to scout prospects at the Senior Bowl. Hostler has been identified by Harbaugh as a candidate for the job.

No Second Interview For Linehan Scheduled
While the Ravens are reportedly interviewing Kyle Shanahan and Kirby Wilson a second time for the offensive coordinator opening, the team does not have a second meeting scheduled with former Lions Offensive Coordinator Scott Linehan, according to The Baltimore Sun’s Aaron Wilson. Linehan already interviewed and has been identified by Harbaugh as a candidate.

Shanhan Has Second Interview
Former Washington Redskins Offensive Coordinator Kyle Shanahan is interviewing again for the Ravens’ open OC job, according to The Baltimore Sun’s Aaron Wilson. Shanahan interviewed for the job last week and was identified by Head Coach John Harbaugh as one of the candidates he’s considering for the job.

Wilson Has Second Interview
The Ravens have already interviewed Pittsburgh Steelers Running Backs Coach Kirby Wilson for the open offensive coordinator position, and Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette reported Thursday that he now has a second interview scheduled. The Baltimore Sun’s Aaron Wilson reported that the first interview went “very well”and that the second meeting is scheduled to take place Friday.

Thursday, Jan. 16

Ravens May Keep Moeller
The Ravens may hang on to Offensive Line Coach Andy Moeller, according to NFL Network's Albert Breer. Offensive Line Coach Jeremiah Washburn is expected to be retained on Jim Caldwell's staff.

Austin Has 'Done Deal' In Detroit
Ravens Secondary Coach Teryl Austin has agreed to be the next defensive coordinator of the Detroit Lions, joining Jim Caldwell's staff, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Austin and Caldwell worked together in Baltimore for two seasons and in Wake Forest in the early '90s.

Vikings ‘Hammering Out A Deal’ With Turner
One of pundits’ top candidates for the Ravens looks like he’s off the market. The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport is reporting that the Vikings are “hammering out a deal” with the former Cleveland Browns Offensive Coordinator Norv Turner, and he will join new Head Coach Mike Zimmer’s staff.

Wednesday, Jan. 15

Ravens Interview Kyle Shanahan
Baltimore interviewed former Redskins Offensive Coordinator Kyle Shanahan on Wednesday, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Shanahan led a top-5 offense in 2012 in Washington, and before that had two Texans offenses finish in the top 5.

Ravens Haven’t Requested Permission To Interview Turner
Norv Turner is still the offensive coordinator of the Cleveland Browns. While the Minnesota requested, and were granted permission to interview him, the Ravens have not put in a request, according to CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora.

Tuesday, Jan. 14

Potential Ravens Candidates
Jamison Hensley of ESPN compiled potential offensive coordinators for the Ravens, including Brad Childress, Rob Chudzinski, Gary Kubiak, Mike Sullivan and more.

Zorn And Saunders Options?
Could the Ravens go with a familiar face? Jason La Canfora of CBSSports.com believes former coordinator and Redskins Head Coach Jim Zorn "could make sense" for the Ravens because he also was Joe Flacco's quarterbacks coach in 2010. The two worked well together. La Canfora also believes Al Saunders "would make sense" because he also worked as a consultant in Baltimore in 2009 and 2010 before becoming the Oakland Raiders' offensive coordinator in 2011.

Utah's John Lucas III had four points during a foul-plagued 27 minutes. The six-year veteran has taken over as the starting point guard for highly regarded rookie Trey Burke, who broke a finger in the team's third preseason game and is expected to be out from two to three months.
Clippers coach Doc Rivers rested his starters the entire fourth quarter after they ended the third trailing 75-72. Ryan Hollins gave them an 84-83 lead with a dunk from an alley-oop pass with 7:08 to play, and Los Angeles never trailed after that.
Hayward gave Utah a 48-47 halftime lead on a 21-footer with 7.4 seconds left in the second quarter after the Jazz squandered a nine-point lead, their largest of the game.
Rudy Gobert, the first player off the Utah bench, missed his first four shots and played 17 scoreless minutes before his slam dunk off an offensive rebound gave the Jazz an 81-76 lead with 10:37 remaining. The 7-foot-1 reserve center had 12 rebounds, but was posterized by Griffin on a slam dunk that tied the score 64-all with 4:02 left in the third quarter.
The Clippers, coming off their first division title in franchise's history, conclude their preseason schedule Friday night at Staples Center against Sacramento before opening their 30th season in Los Angeles next Wednesday against the Lakers. The Jazz have one more dress rehearsal Friday in Anaheim against the Lakers before opening up the regular season next Wednesday at home against Oklahoma City.
